This mass gainer is designed for hardgainers and anyone else who wants to build noticeable muscle mass. But does it actually work?

After reading some very positive Serious Gainz reviews, I decided to buy a couple of tubs to find out for myself. As you’re about to learn, Serious Gainz Mass Gainer does one thing that most other gainers can’t; it provides quality calories at a great price.

Serious Gainz Mass Gainer Nutrition and Ingredients

The Serious Gainz nutrition facts

The Bulk Protein Company Serious Gainz has seriously good macros for gaining muscle mass. You get an optimal ratio of carbs to protein for bulking up, which helps you to pack on quality size without piling on unnecessary body fat.

I also like that the ingredient list is really minimal. In other words, you’re not paying for a bunch of unnecessary filler ingredients that do nothing for your muscles. So far, this level of quality and purity is making Serious Gainz Protein Powder a great option for those wanting to bag themselves a quality mass gainer on a budget.

Per 125g serving, this Serious Gainz weight gainer provides the following nutrition:

  • 468 calories
  • 30g of protein
  • 81g of carbs
  • 9g of sugar
  • 3.5g of fat
  • 2.3g of fibre

And for about the same price as a month’s gym membership, you get a big 5kg tub with 40 servings, that’s over a month’s supply. No wonder Serious Gainz has become such a popular mass gainer in the UK!

It’s made by the same company that makes the Vegan Gainz Mass Gainer, which is popular among those looking to gain weight on a plant-based diet.

Serious Gainz Protein Powder Benefits and Effectiveness

As a keen bodybuilder, I love how Serious Gainz Mass Gainer uses multiple sources of protein for varied digestion speeds, helping you to stay in an anabolic state for longer and get faster results.

On one end of the spectrum, we have fast-acting whey concentrate and whey isolate to trigger a massive spike in muscle protein synthesis, helping to kickstart the recovery process ASAP.

Next, we have soy protein isolate, which is a moderately fast-digesting protein.

Then we have casein, which is the complete opposite of whey. It provides a less potent muscle protein synthesis spike than whey, but it drip-feeds your muscles with amino acids over a much longer time period, which is why I say that Serious Gainz helps you to stay in that all-important anabolic growth state.

The carbohydrate content is also on point. The Bulk Protein Company don’t stuff their mass gainer with hundreds of grams of unnecessary carbs. Instead, they focus on quality carbs to give your body the vital energy it needs to build new muscle tissue and power through those tough bulking workouts.

Each serving gives you 81g of carbs from oat flour and ultra-premium maltodextrin, so you don’t need to worry about drinking a bunch of sugar (speaking of which, there’s only 9g of sugar per serving).

At 3.5g per 125g serving, Serious Gainz Whey Protein Powder is also low in fat, meaning that the glycogen from the carbs and the amino acids from the protein can be rapidly absorbed into your bloodstream without being slowed down by a bunch of fat, which takes a long time to digest.

Some other quality gainers that are worth checking out if you’re based in the UK are XL Nutrition Mass gainer and Reflex One Stop Xtreme. Obviously, most mass gainers are quite similar, so you don’t always have to get the latest new supplement.

Serious Gainz Taste Review

Next up in my Serious Gainz Protein Powder review is the taste test.

A man doing a review of Serious Gainz by The Bulk Protein Company

So far, I’ve tried Serious Gainz Chocolate, Serious Gainz Vanilla, and now Serious Gainz Strawberry. My personal favourite is the chocolate flavour, which has a good balance between being tasty and not too bland.

I thought that Strawberry and Vanilla were nice as well, but not quite as good as the Chocolate flavour.

While I wouldn’t say that any of the flavours were gourmet-level delicious, they were certainly pleasant to drink—especially with milk—which is all you can ask of a high-calorie mass gainer.

Obviously, taste is subjective. Not all Serious Gainz reviews that I read were complimentary about the taste, but this goes for any weight gainer, really.

Serious Gainz Mass Gainer Mixability

Just this past year, I’ve tested over 60 mass gainers on the UK market for mixability.

To keep things fair, I mix each shake with water and then with milk. I shake up my mass gainer for 30 seconds.

I’m pleased to report that Serious Gainz passed the mixability test with no clumps!

I just added 3 scoops of powder to around 500 ml of liquid and then gave it a good shake. I personally like my weight gainers to be creamy, so I preferred the taste and texture of Serious Gainz Whey Protein when I mixed it with milk.

Obviously, you can mix your Serious Gainz shakes in a blender, which also enables you to add extra calorie-boosting ingredients like oats and peanut butter.

Still, as any Serious Gainz 5kg review will tell you, this mass gainer mixes really well in a standard shaker bottle, meaning that you can easily bring Serious Gainz to the gym with you and drink it as a post-workout shake.

Is The Bulk Protein Company Serious Gainz Good Value For Money?

An overhead view of Serious Gainz Mass Gainer

Considering what many big sports nutrition brands are charging for their weight gainers, I’d have to say that Serious Gainz is excellent value for money.

I think I paid 35 quid for a big 5kg tub, which is enough for 40 days if you have one serving each day.

If my maths is any good, that’s less than a pound per serving! Considering that you can’t even buy a bottle of water for £1 these days, I think that’s pretty good value for money.

I’d recommend buying a good creatine supplement as well so that you have a complete bulking stack.

Obviously, this will increase your monthly supplement spend, but mass gainers and creatine are by far the two best bodybuilding supplements for putting on size.

Serious Gainz vs Serious Mass

Serious Gainz vs Serious Mass: Which is better?

A serious Mass vs Serious Gainz comparison

Honestly, you can’t go wrong with either. Both have a good reputation and will definitely get you results if you drink them consistently.

That said, let me highlight some of the differences between ON Serious Mass and The Bulk Protein Company Serious Gainz.

  • Serious Mass contains more protein, carbs, and calories per serving (but the serving size is nearly 3 times as big!).
  • Serious Gainz contains way more servings per tub and is much cheaper.
  • Serious Mass contains creatine, whereas Serious Gainz doesn’t have any creatine.
  • I’d say that Serious Mass tastes a bit better than Serious Gainz (but that’s just my opinion).
  • Serious Gainz has a bigger flavour selection.
  • Serious Gainz is made by a UK company, whereas Serious Mass is manufactured by an American company, Optimum Nutrition.

I hope this comparison, along with my Serious Gainz Protein review, helps you decide which mass gainer is right for you. Both weight gainers are really good, and you can make great gains with either. So don’t worry too much about which one to buy—there’s no right or wrong decision here.

The Verdict: Is Serious Gainz Any Good For Bulking Up?

A tub of Serious Gainz from The Bulk Protein Company

As I noted in my Serious Gainz Protein Powder review, this mass gainer is ideal for those who want to gain quality weight on a budget.

With a solid 468 calories per serving, along with 81g of carbs and 30g of protein, Serious Gainz Mass Gainer contains everything you need to gain rock-solid muscle (except creatine, which you’ll need to buy separately).

I recommend taking your Serious Gainz shake after your workout on training days—to maximise post-workout protein synthesis—and between meals on rest days for those extra growth-provoking calories.

Overall, this supplement definitely passes the test. This is the end of The Bulk Protein Company Serious Gainz review. I hope that my taste testing and analysis helped you decide if this weight gainer is right for you.
