If anyone has the right to make a mass gainer, it’s Ronnie Coleman. The 8-time Mr Olympia champ knew how to gain incredible amounts of muscle mass, and a big part of putting on size is nutrition.

That’s where weight gainers come in.

We can’t all cook 6 meals a day and eat whenever we want. On the contrary, making a mass gainer takes less than a minute, and you get a massive hit of calories, carbs, and protein from just one shake.

With that in mind, I decided to give Ronnie Coleman’s mass gainer a try to see how it tastes, mixes, digests, and of course, to find out how effective it is. In my Ronnie Coleman King Mass Xl review, you’ll soon learn if this supplement is the best weight gainer for skinny guys.

Ronnie Coleman King Mass Xl Supplement Facts

You’d expect a Ronnie Coleman mass gainer to be high in protein and dense in calories, wouldn’t you? Well, that’s exactly what you’re getting with King Mass XL.

The Ronnie Coleman King Mass XL nutrition facts

This USA-made mass gainer is loaded with quality nutrition so that you can smash through strength plateaus and pack on quality mass.

Per 4-scoop serving (250g of powder), you get:

  • 1,000 calories
  • 178g of carbs
  • 60g of protein
  • 6g of fat
  • 24g of sugar
  • 3g of creatine

Even if you just take 2 scoops, you’re still getting a massive muscle feed. This RC mass gainer is high in protein, low in sugar, and a true heavyweight in the calorie department.

Ronnie Coleman King Mass Xl Ingredients

As you’ve probably gathered from reading my Ronnie Coleman King Mass Gainer review thus far, King Mass XL is a top-quality weight gainer that’s beneficial for both hardgainers and high-level bodybuilders.

Where King Mass XL really flexes its muscle, though, is in the great attention to detail that Ronnie and the team have put into the ingredients. Let me show you what I mean.

60g of Protein

Whereas most mass gainers would only include 40-50g of protein from a single source, this Ronnie Coleman weight gainer utilises 4 different types of protein to provide your muscles with a steady supply of amino acids so that they can stay anabolic and keep growing for longer.

In addition to the fast-digesting whey concentrate and whey isolate, King Mass XL also includes milk protein isolate and micellar casein, which digests much more slowly.

Whey protein is ideal post-workout because it delivers a rapid infusion of amino acids to your muscles so that they can start growing and repairing ASAP.

But what happens when the whey’s protein synthesis spike wears off? Well, unless you have another shake or meal, you run the risk of entering a catabolic state, which could lead to under-recovery and even muscle loss.

This is where milk—which is naturally 80% casein—and micellar casein come into play. Although casein might not provide a massive protein synthesis spike like whey, it delivers the same quality of amino acids over a much longer period of time.

Collectively, the whey and casein contained within this powerful King Mass XL Protein Blend enable you to maximise muscle protein synthesis while minimising protein breakdown, which is the essence of hypertrophy.

178g of Carbs

One reason why there are so many positive King Mass XL reviews is because of the high-carb content. In addition to fueling tough training sessions, carbohydrates make your muscles look full and help them to recover after a workout.

When you finish training, your muscles are glycogen-depleted and are in desperate need of fuel. Ronnie Coleman and the team know this, and that’s why they’ve included a blend of fast-acting and slower-release carbs in King Mass XL.

This enables you to achieve rapid muscle glycogen replenishment without getting a massive sugar rush.

The carb blend consists of fructose, maltodextrin, and waxy maize starch, which are very well absorbed and ideal for a mass gainer like King Mass XL.

Of course, carbohydrates are awesome for gaining weight as well, and I like how King Mass XL contains plenty of carbs without compromising on the protein content.

6g of Fat

The process of getting healthy fats into a mass gainer is quite an art.

Use too much fat, and you’ll slow down protein absorption, rendering your supplement near-useless as a post-workout shake.

Include too little fat, and you miss out on the chance to add extra healthy calories to your mass gainer.

With 6g of fat from coconut oil per 4-scoop serving, this RC mass gainer has enough fat to make a decent contribution towards your daily macro targets, but not so much that it competes with the carbs and protein for absorption.

Since King Mass Xl contains a lot of natural ingredients that are backed by years of scientific study, some people are saying that it’s the best mass gainer for teens who want to bulk up.

Obviously, though, any teen should focus on eating healthy, whole-food meals rather than taking supplements!

3g of Creatine

If there’s one ingredient that deserves to be in a mass gainer, it’s creatine.

Ronnie Coleman King Mass XL utilises creatine ethyl ester to increase your strength and muscle mass.

Creatine ethyl ester is absorbed more quickly into the muscles than monohydrate, and it causes less bloating.

You’d usually pay quite a lot for it as a standalone supplement, but you’ll get it for free if you buy Ronnie Coleman King Mass Gainer, which I’m certainly not complaining about!

Ronnie Coleman King Mass Xl Taste and Mixability

I first used King Mass XL right after its initial release, and I remember being shocked at how tasty it was. After all, I thought that gulping down a sickening shake was just part of drinking weight gainers.

Well, years on, I’m pleased to report in my King Mass XL review that this Ronnie Coleman mass gainer still tastes as good as ever.

I went for the Dark Chocolate flavour, which was a really nice change to the typical milk chocolate flavour that you get with basically every other mass gainer.

The consistency was smooth—no clumps whatsoever—and it reminded me a bit of chocolate brownies. If you want a break from bland weight gain shakes, King Mass XL is a great choice, and it’s not overly sweet, either, which really enhances its drinkability.

As the King Mass XL reviews will tell you, this RC weight gainer also has excellent mixability. I used a blender because the directions recommend using around 250 ml of liquid per scoop, meaning that 4 scoops and 1L of milk or water are never going to fit in a standard shaker bottle.

And while it might seem inconvenient to use a blender, this mixing method virtually guarantees a lump-free shake, and honestly, it’s just part of drinking high-calorie mass gainers like King Mass XL.

Ronnie Coleman King Mass Xl Results and Effectiveness

Many users are reporting amazing King Mass XL results in their reviews, with gains of several pounds in the first few weeks being quite common. In some cases, users of King Mass XL have gained 5-10 lbs in just 6 to 8 weeks, which is really impressive.

And you know what?

I’m not surprised by any of this. As someone who has independently reviewed and tested more than 50 mass gainers, I can safely say that Ronnie Coleman Signature Series King Mass XL is a potent and highly effective weight gain formula

As long as you put in the hard hours in the weight room and eat a good, mass-building diet, this supplement will help you to get real results in both strength increase and muscle mass gains.

Yeah Buddy!

Ronnie Coleman King Mass Xl Side Effects

In order to make my Ronnie Coleman King Mass Gainer review as honest and fair as possible, I thought it was only right to talk about the side effects of this supplement.

Since mass gainers, in the most simple analysis, are basically just liquid calories, carbs, and protein, they don’t usually have any nasty side effects, especially if you buy from a good brand like Ronnie Coleman Signature Series.

That said, if you’re new to the world of weight gainers, then you might feel some stomach discomfort after drinking this shake due to the sheer amount of calories contained within it.

In my experience, though, any GI distress will lessen or dissipate entirely as your body becomes used to the extra calorie volume provided by these weight-gain shakes, like King Mass XL.

So unless you have poor lactose tolerance, you’re unlikely to experience any stomach-related side effects that are the direct results of King Mass XL. Obviously, if you’re smashing down the protein and calories to bulk up, you’ll naturally feel really full and bloated from time to time. But that’s just part of bulking for a lot of people!

How about the creatine?

Well, since King Mass XL contains creatine ethyl ester rather than monohydrate, it won’t bloat you as much—if at all—because ethyl ester is rapidly absorbed into the muscles.

The Verdict: Will Ronnie Coleman’s Mass Gainer Get You Jacked?

While I can’t promise that you’ll look anything like a prime Ronnie Coleman after drinking King Mass XL, there’s a very high chance that you’ll get great mass-building results from drinking this expertly-formulated weight gainer.

King Mass XL contains more protein than just about any other high-carb gainer on the market, meaning that you’re not paying for a bunch of empty carbs.

Yes, there are plenty of carbs and calories to promote weight gain—1,000 per 4-scoop serving—but Big Ron and the team don’t go overboard. Instead, they focus on quality ingredients that actually get you results.

And as I noted earlier in my Ronnie Coleman King Mass XL review, this weight gainer tastes fantastic and mixes really well. What more could you ask for?
