If you’ve read my Mutant Mass Gainer review or my AllMax QuickMass review, then you’ll know that we have two very effective weight-gaining supplements on our hands.

So I decided to do a QuickMass vs Mutant Mass comparison to see which of these weight gainers offers the highest quality ingredients, the tastiest shake, and the best mixability.

What Are The Differences Between Mutant Mass And QuickMass?

If you don’t fancy reading the entire article (no offence taken!), then this quick Mutant Mass vs QuickMass comparison should help to highlight the key differences between these two weight gainers.

  • QuickMass has 1010 calories per 265g serving, while Mutant Mass provides 1100 calories per 280g serving. 
  • QuickMass contains 64g of protein from whey concentrate, whey isolate, and milk isolate, while Mutant Mass provides 56g of protein from whey and casein.
  • QuickMass has 170g of carbs from maltodextrin, waxy maize, highly-branched cyclic dextrin, quinoa flour, oat fibre, and sweet potato powder, while Mutant Mass has 192g of carbs from maltodextrin, rolled oats, sweet potato, and waxy maize.
  • QuickMass has 12g of sugar and 8g of fat, while Mutant Mass has 18g of sugar and 12g of fat.
  • QuickMass includes a blend of vitamins and minerals, whereas Mutant Mass doesn’t.

As you can see, QuickMass has more protein, a slightly smaller serving size, and added vitamins and minerals. Conversely, Mutant Mass has more calories, carbs, and quality fats.

If you want a more carb-heavy gainer, then go with Mutant Mass.

If you want a more protein-dense gainer, go with AllMax QuickMass instead.

Which Is Best For Bulking?

Since the nutritional breakdown of each supplement is so similar, It’s not really possible to say that one is definitely better than the other.

Sure, Mutant Mass has more calories than QuickMass, but I don’t think that 90 extra calories are going to have much effect on your muscle-building progress.

Likewise, QuickMass does have more protein, but the 56g of protein provided by Mutant Mass is already more than enough for most people, including elite bodybuilders.

Honestly, you could use these two weight gainers interchangeably during your bulking phase. Since they both taste great but are slightly different, It might actually be a welcomed change to alternate between Mutant Mass and QuickMass.

QuickMass vs Mutant Mass: Nutrition and Ingredients

A comparison of QuickMass and Mutant Mass to see which is better

Both products contain whey protein and casein protein, so you’re getting a good supply of essential amino acids here.

While it’s true that AllMax lists milk protein rather than casein, milk is 80% casein and 20% whey by nature, so the formula has both fast-acting and slow-digesting amino acids for optimal muscle growth.

Both supplements also make use of quality carb sources, making it even harder to separate them.

For example, QuickMass contains quinoa flour, oat fibre, and sweet potato powder, while Mutant Mass utilises rolled oats and sweet potatoes, so you’re getting some good complex carbs in both formulas (as well as the ever-present maltodextrin).

One big difference is that QuickMass has a blend of vitamins and minerals, including zinc, magnesium, vitamin C, vitamin B12, and vitamin D, whereas Mutant Mass doesn’t have these vitamins and minerals.

While you should get the majority of your vitamins and minerals from whole food sources, you could definitely make a case for getting extra micronutrients when you’re drinking a lot of liquid calories and training hard in the gym.

Of course, most people prefer to supplement with vitamins and minerals separately so they have more control over the dosages, so I don’t think the added micronutrients are enough to swing it in QuickMass’s favour.

QuickMass vs Mutant Mass: Taste Test

As I said earlier in my Mutant Mass vs QuickMass comparison, these two weight gainers are really hard to separate, and it doesn’t get any easier when it comes to the taste!

Most mass gainers taste pretty terrible (and that’s putting it politely), so it was, quite literally, refreshing to try two weight gainers that actually have a milkshake-like taste and texture.

To make the comparison easier, I got the chocolate flavour for both supplements. If I had to pick a winner, I’d say that QuickMass tastes slightly better, but then again, it uses artificial flavours, so maybe that’s why.

What I can confidently say is this: you won’t be disappointed by the flavours of either supplement. These weight gainers have been around for a long time, and both AllMax and Mutant have really put a lot of effort into developing flavours that keep people coming back for more.

One thing to note, however, is that, due to the large serving size, you’ll need to use a blender to mix these weight gainers if you want to guarantee a smooth consistency. While this might seem a bit inconvenient, it’s just part of taking mass gainers (although you could split the mixture across two shaker bottles instead).

The differences between AllMax Quick Mass and Mutant Mass

Regardless of whether you buy Mutant Mass or QuickMass, you’re going to get a great gainer that has all the protein, carbs, and calories you need to bulk up.

However, you came here for answers, and that’s what I’m going to give you.

So, if you want a higher calorie gainer with more carbs and fats, then go with Mutant Mass. It’s the more popular choice out of the two and is trusted by everyone from novice lifters to elite bodybuilders, so you’re definitely in good hands.

Conversely, if you want a more protein-dense powder with fewer calories, carbs, and fats—and with added vitamins and minerals—then go with AllMax QuickMass.
