In recent years, the growing interest in bodybuilding and bulking up has led to significant demand for the best weight gaining shakes on the market.

One such product that claims to be just that is MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer. It’s loaded with 1,330 calories, 28g of carbs, 44g of protein, and just 4g of fat.

Designed to boost your gym performance and facilitate muscle gain, MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer is armed with high-quality, science-backed ingredients that make it popular with those seeking a quality gainer from a reputable brand.

To see if this seemingly promising gainer lives up to the hype, I decided to create a full Muscletech 100% Mass Gainer review to put it to the test.

MuscleTech 100 Mass Gainer Nutritional Info

Each serving of MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer provides 1,330 calories when mixed with water. A significant proportion of these calories come from carbohydrates, which clock in at a frankly huge 280g per serving.

The MuscleTech 100 Mass Gainer nutrition facts

When it comes to protein, this mass gainer offers a respectable 44g per serving. While not as much as some other gainers, MuscleTech uses only premium-quality proteins—whey concentrates, whey isolates, calcium caseinate, and hydrolysed whey isolate.

To accelerate your strength gains, MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer includes 5g of creatine monohydrate per serving. I like that MuscleTech gives us the full 5g dose rather than thinking they can get away with just 1-3g per serving like so many other brands.

Creatine is a well-researched supplement that has been proven to increase strength, muscular endurance and overall performance. Including creatine in the formula makes it a convenient and effective way for you to enhance your gains.

There’s also 7.7g of l-glutamine for muscle recovery and soreness reduction, in addition to around 10g of BCAAs, which promote muscle protein synthesis and, ultimately, hypertrophy (aka gains).

MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer Ingredients

Overall, the MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer ingredients are of great quality. But depending on your goals, there may be better options out there. Let me explain.

Obviously, mass gainers are designed to provoke significant weight gain. But sometimes, the carb-to-protein ratio can be excessive. See my MassTech Elite review if you’d prefer a gainer with a closer ratio of carbs to protein.

The MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer ingredients

Not everyone needs 280g of carbs per serving, especially if they’re lean-gaining or already have a lot of muscle on their frame.

However, if you’re really skinny and struggle to cram in enough calories to gain weight, then 280g of carbs and 1,330 calories could actually be ideal. You can check out my Mass Tech Extreme 2000 reviews if you want to see a similar gainer that’s even higher in calories and carbs.

As for protein, 44g is pretty good, especially considering that we get 10g of BCAAs and 7.7g of glutamine as well. I particularly like how there’s no soy protein or any cheap filler amino acids.

At just 4g per serving, fats are very low in MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer. While fats are an important part of any bodybuilding diet, they’re best consumed from whole food sources.

Also, thanks to the low fat content, your body can absorb and utilise the carbs and protein quicker, which is especially beneficial during the post-workout recovery period.

Scoop Size for MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer

The scoop size for MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer is about 60 grams. This is because the full serving size, 6 scoops, works out to 357g of powder. So, if we divide that full serving size by six, we get roughly 60 grams.

Depending on how precise you want to be, you can just scoop your powder straight into your shaker/blender, or you can weigh it out in a bowl if you’re following exact macros. But honestly, when you’re bulking, you don’t need to be too precise.

For maximum results, MuscleTech recommends consuming two full servings per day. Obviously, this might be okay for high-level bodybuilders who take their products, but it might be too much for the average gym-goer.

It all depends on how many calories you need to take in.

I’d definitely start with just one serving, and then, if you’re not gaining weight, perhaps consider having another serving. But, as you’ll learn later in this MuscleTech 100 Mass Gainer review, having two shakes a day will get expensive pretty quickly.

MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer Taste and Mixing

So, as I said earlier in my MuscleTech 100 Mass Gainer review, this supplement is good for gaining size thanks to its high calorie content.

The nutrition facts for MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer

But, as you might have guessed, all of those carbs and calories come at a cost, so to speak.

Most likely, you’re going to need a blender for this shake unless you just take half a serving. It’s really hard to fit 357g of powder and 450 ml of liquid in a standard shaker bottle.

Now, if you just use 450 ml of liquid—especially milk—then your shakes might be too thick. This is a simple fix, though; just add more liquid and blend. It won’t clump together if you do this.

I wasn’t crazy about the flavour, but it was certainly drinkable. I’ve had many worse-tasting shakes over the years, let me tell you!

One thing to note is that MuscleTech uses artificial (as well as natural) flavouring. So, if you’re quite health-conscious, this might not be the right mass gainer for you.

So, is MuscleTech 100 mass gainer good? Yes, I’d definitely say so. But depending on your nutritional needs and budget, it may or may not be right for you. More on that in a sec.

Is MuscleTech 100 Mass Gainer Good For Bulking Up?

Closeup of MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer

As you know from reading my MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer review, this gainer is a popular supplement for building muscle mass and putting on weight. And you can see why. With over 1300 calories per shake, 280g of carbs, and 44g of protein, this supplement really does have good weight gain potential.

As you bulk up, MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer can play a crucial role in providing the necessary surplus calories and protein. After all, we don’t all have the appetite/time to make calorie-dense meals every day, so a gainer like this can be a real helping hand during a bulk.

What makes MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer even more appealing is the combination of whey protein and muscle-building ingredients like creatine and glutamine. This powerful mixture not only aids in the growth of muscle mass but also boosts strength more rapidly than you may expect.

Although you won’t have to buy creatine or a separate protein powder when you take this supplement, it’s still expensive. And if you take two servings per day, you’re going to burn through the tub in no time at all.

So, while there are some positive MuscleTech 100% Mass Gainer reviews, many felt that the gainer was too expensive, especially since you’re paying for a lot more carbs (which are meant to be cheap) than protein.
